What is Adjusted Gross Score?
Your actual gross score must be adjusted for blow-outs - meaning there is a maximum score on any given hole for each particular handicap range.
If you score above the maximum allowable score, you must adjust your score downwards on that particular hole for handicap purposes.
For instance, if your handicap index is:
- 9 or less, your maximum score on any hole is double bogey
- 10 to 19 your maximum score on any hole is 7
- 20 to 29 your maximum score on any hole is 8
- 30 to 39 your maximum score on any hole is 9
